Solid Surface is a composite material, consisting mainly of acrylic resins and natural minerals. It is characterised by its non-porous, smooth and even surface, which makes it very popular in the manufacture of washbasins, countertops and nowadays in niches. This material is highly valued for its durability, wear resistance and the ease with which it can be cleaned and maintained. In addition, it allows the creation of designs without visible joints, offering a modern and minimalist aesthetic that adapts to any style of bathroom decoration.
The main difference is in the material: Solid Surface offers a continuous, pore-free and completely waterproof surface, which prevents leaks, stains and the proliferation of fungus. It also allows for more precise designs, clean lines and invisible joints, something that traditional materials such as ceramic, resin or steel do not always achieve. It is also warmer to the touch, repairable in case of knocks or scratches and extremely durable. In contrast, traditional products may be cheaper, but they tend to have visible joints, lower impact resistance and a shorter lifespan in wet environments such as bathrooms and showers.
The maintenance of Solid Surface is very simple: just wipe the surface regularly with a soft cloth and a neutral cleaner to maintain its original appearance. In case of small marks or scratches, they can be easily repaired by light sanding or polishing, which is often not possible with traditional materials.
